The Styx of Palm beach
It was an honor to be a part of the CBS12 News Black History Month special report on The Styx of Palm Beach.
There’s a lot of history and controversy on what happened on that island, which is now home to the rich and famous and a former president.
My great great grandfather was commissioned by President Harding to bring railroad magnate Henry Flagler to South Florida.
I talked about that, as well as the Sunset Lounge, as it was the place to be along the “chitlin circuit” for black entertainers.
